Help Save Child Care
Prime Minister Stephen Harper's decision to tear up federal-provincial agreements on child care and early learning will be a huge setback to the long-awaited goal of a national child care program and to women’s equality. Please take the time to visit this site and sign on to protect the gains we've made on child care. So far more than 1,000 Canadians a day are signing the petition to protect and build child care.

If Harper is allowed to cancel the child care agreements, this will mean a loss of nearly $24 million in additional child care funds for Newfoundland and Labrador. This represents nearly 3,600 child care spaces which are desperately needed in our rural communities. Rural families deserve regulated child care too.
